Dev Log #6 – When a World Starts Breathing
One of the most rewarding moments in game development is when a collection of small systems suddenly begins to feel like a living world.
This week was one of those moments.
The prototype now has player movement, environmental interactions, sound triggers, and the beginnings of a playable space around the cabin. None of it is visually final yet, but the experience is slowly starting to feel cohesive.
It’s amazing how much atmosphere can emerge from simple interactions. A quiet clearing, a subtle sound, and a small environmental response can transform a test scene into something that feels intentional.
Travelers sometimes speak about a strange feeling in certain parts of the valley — as if the air itself has grown thin or distant.
The locals have a quiet name for it.
They call it the Fading.
Most people avoid speaking about it for long. Whatever it is, it seems to grow stronger when too much attention is given to it.
For now development continues with expanding the prototype and exploring new puzzle mechanics that will shape the early gameplay experience.
